Creating a Habit of Prayer + A Return of Our (New) Weekly Newsletter

Hey friends!

Your blog updates are going to start looking a little different from this week going forward. We’re bringing back the weekly newsletter for 2 reasons: (1) I want to make sure I’m not overwhelming your inbox. By doing a weekly newsletter, I can highlight the previous posts on the blog without sending you an email every time I post. (2) I want to highlight some other resources that I’ve been making for the shop and send you a copy of them!

In this newsletter, you’ll get:

  • A quick thought from me about a topic
  • Links to the latest posts
  • Our latest podcast and YouTube videos
  • A freebie from A More Beautiful Life Collective Store

I hope that this will become something that you look forward to opening each week. Many of you have been supporting the blog by subscribing and sharing from the beginning, and I am so grateful for you! I wasn’t sure when I first started writing what direction everything was going to take. Over the past 6 months, I have just “Done the next right thing” as Elisabeth Elliot has said. I want to make sure that I’m providing something of value to you and truly encouraging you to create a life you love and cultivate your heart for God.

I would love to hear from you and learn more about you! You can reply to this email anytime to let me know questions you have or topics you would like to learn more about!

We’ve been doing a deep dive into habits and routines for a more productive life. We want to do kingdom work for God, and so we have to first wake up out of the mundanity of life and focus on what we can accomplish for him.

Reading about goals and setting visions for our lives is one way we can wake up. But, if we are thinking about getting things done from a biblical perspective, we are not just concerned with productivity.

We have to align the desires of our hearts with the desires of God. This is a daily alignment, and this alignment is done through reading scripture and prayer.

At the beginning of the year, a common resolution or goal is to read through the Bible in a year. But, that is not the only goal that we should add. Prayer is the foundation for our relationship with God. It is a keystone habit in our lives.

Here are some habits that help you make prayer a priority in your life:

  • Pray when you wake up and when you go to sleep
  • Add physical movement to your prayers, whether that’s kneeling, clasping your hands, or walking.
  • Pray through scripture
  • Join your church’s prayer team or prayer chain.
  • Create a prayer meeting to have times of prayer together.
  • Keep a prayer log or journal.

What are some ways that you make prayer a priority?

Here's something just for you!

Hey friends! I hope everyone had a lovely Easter! We are settling into the Spring Routines, including starting seedlings, planning out gardens, and picking out homeschool curriculum for next year. As we move into the Spring months, I start to get Spring fever. I am so ready for summer, including the pool, the beach, and long summer days! As the season changes, I like to take a moment to reassess my goals. I post regularly on Instagram about some of these goals, as well as ideas and...

Hey friends, and hello Spring! The past few weeks have been a whirlwind. A few weeks ago, I went to a lovely women's retreat with some ladies from my church. There's something so special about leaving the distractions and busyness of life and spending some time in God's word with like-minded believers. Then, the following weekend, I went to the Great Homeschool Convention. It was a great weekend! Do you homeschool? I'd love it if you responded and let me know! It got my wheels turning for...

Hey friends! Rising costs mean rising stress, doesn't it? I was just talking with some friends about the costs of take-out meals. What used to be a $5-6 meal has bloomed into $10-12! Take that combined with growing families, and sometimes, it can feel like you are at the end of your rope. You can't seem to make the ends meet. As Christians, we have a different view of money. Money is not just something that strive to accumulate more of to buy nice things for ourselves. We don't use money to...
