What's a Method of Christian Living? + NEW Systematic Theology Study

Hey friends!

I hope everyone had a lovely Easter! We are settling into the Spring Routines, including starting seedlings, planning out gardens, and picking out homeschool curriculum for next year.

As we move into the Spring months, I start to get Spring fever. I am so ready for summer, including the pool, the beach, and long summer days! As the season changes, I like to take a moment to reassess my goals.

I post regularly on Instagram about some of these goals, as well as ideas and encouragement to help you create a life you love and cultivate your heart for God. Join the collective on Facebook by joining our Facebook group! This group is a place for like-minded believers to encourage one another to live intentionally for God. I hope you join me as we build this community together!

As I recommended in this YouTube video, I think that we need to assess our goals at least quarterly to make sure that we are staying on track. How are you doing with your New Year's Resolutions or your theme of the year? What are some things you could do now that would get you back on track? (Here's a link to our Quarterly Goal Planning sheets to help you do this kind of planning!)

On the blog, we've been talking about creating a method for Christian living. Often, we come to faith, and then, we are left wondering: "How should we then live?"

A Method of Christian Living has four steps:

  1. Create Your Personal Statement of Faith
  2. Create a list of Christian Virtues to Base Your Life On
  3. Create a list of guiding principles for the Christian life
  4. Create a Rule of Life

Once you have created this method of Christian living, you will have a firm biblical basis for a life that is guided by solid biblical principles and includes habits that will cultivate your heart for God.

The last step in this process - creating a Rule of Life - is the key step to make your faith. To create your rule of life, you need to:

  1. Begin with a strong foundation.
  2. Set your goals.
  3. Brainstorm habits.
  4. Map out daily, weekly, and yearly rhythms.

I would love to know if you've been working on creating this method. Reply to this email and let me know if you've been working on this. I'd love to hear some ideas that you have for your Rule of Life.

You can get our FULL bundle on creating your method of Christian living on the blog.

Hey friends, and hello Spring! The past few weeks have been a whirlwind. A few weeks ago, I went to a lovely women's retreat with some ladies from my church. There's something so special about leaving the distractions and busyness of life and spending some time in God's word with like-minded believers. Then, the following weekend, I went to the Great Homeschool Convention. It was a great weekend! Do you homeschool? I'd love it if you responded and let me know! It got my wheels turning for...

Hey friends! Rising costs mean rising stress, doesn't it? I was just talking with some friends about the costs of take-out meals. What used to be a $5-6 meal has bloomed into $10-12! Take that combined with growing families, and sometimes, it can feel like you are at the end of your rope. You can't seem to make the ends meet. As Christians, we have a different view of money. Money is not just something that strive to accumulate more of to buy nice things for ourselves. We don't use money to...

Hey friends! This week has been a 'reset' week. Have you ever needed one of those? I spent some time trying to sort through my piled-up to-do lists while also just taking some time to rest and breathe. In my Bible reading plan, I just finished the book of Leviticus. Often, this is where reading plans go to die, but there is such great truth here. I often marvel at David's description of the law of the Lord, "The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the LORD are...
